As a Planner & Charterer in the Spain/Italy department, you will be responsible for managing transport operations for our own fleet of lorries and chartering loads, taking into account available resources and pursuing profitability objectives.
You will be responsible for :
- Plan and organise transport operations by distributing work among drivers and preparing routes in accordance with instructions and applicable legislation;
- Monitor drivers and ensure that schedules are followed;
- Identify vehicles that are behind schedule and find solutions;
- Provide drivers with the necessary instructions to ensure that schedules are followed (working hours, rest periods, addresses, etc.);
- Charter loads from various partners;
- Enter service data into the ERP system and administratively monitor the files for which you are responsible;
- Manage administrative tasks related to the schedule;
- Participate in follow-up calls to customers and in the search for groupage;
- Be the back-up for your colleagues (Italy Department) when necessary.
Knowledge and skills :
- Bachelor’s degree related to the position or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a transport chartering unit.
- Keen interest in the transport sector and knowledge of transport legislation.
- Proficiency in IT tools (Office Suite, TX, Viewtrans, etc.).
- Very good knowledge of Spanish and French (written and spoken) and good knowledge of English. Italian is an asset.
