Chemours is seeking a Logistics Buyer to join our Procurement team! In your position, you will report directly to the EMEA Logistics Manager at our Kallo, Belgium location.
As a Logistics Buyer, you will be part of a close-knit team where you will contribute to Chemours’ success by understanding the business logistics needs and procure corresponding services at lowest total cost of ownership.
Your responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- You will collaborate with our different business unit stakeholders to understand their present requirements & future needs, identify opportunities for improvement, develop & implement new alternatives, lower the total cost of ownership. You will also be responsible for translating the requests from our internal customers towards the suppliers within the global network.
- You will maintain your logistics competency and expertise in Chemours by:
- Studying latest developments in the logistics market/logistics industry in terms of systems, processes and technologies
- Bringing logistics expertise to the business units
- Participating in logistics trainings, conferences, events, etc
- Understanding & staying up to date about local & international legislation & regulations related to cross border logistics & foreign trade
- You will be responsible for procuring logistics suppliers, building partnerships and providing operational support services in transportation: forwarders, carriers, warehouse and/or 3PL providers. You will lead tenders in Europe and participate in global tenders.
- You will monitor and drive suppliers’ evaluations, incorporate the performance levels in the negotiations and translate the offer from the suppliers towards the internal customers. You will also maintain transport rates, contracts and operating procedures.
- You will get the chance to perform logistics studies and projects as a project leader. With these projects, you will provide assistance to the business units and Procurement teams on areas such as new business, new markets, supply chain transformations, etc.
The Following Is Required For This Role
- Master or Bachelor level degree with 3-5 years relevant work experience in Logistics.
- Communication and negotiating skills.
- Language skills: English, Dutch are really required to be able to maintain all written and verbal communications (other European languages are an asset but not a must).
- Strong knowledge & capability in logistics and supply chain (domestic & international)
- PC skills: Microsoft applications are the basics for daily usage. Transport Management System, SAP is a plus (but not a must).
- Interpersonal competences, networking skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrate ability to identify and define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Being able to set priorities, organize work and implement action items.
- Openness to change, proactively seeks optimization and continuous improvement.
The Following Is Preferred For This Role
- Procurement experience and/or commercial experience in a logistics environment is a strong plus.
- Project management skills
- Strong affinity with regulatory & compliance reference texts.
- You like to multi-task and you are stress-resistant

The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
